How much will it cost to open a KnowFat! restaurant?
In your information packet we have included an investment sheet that highlights the costs involved in opening a KnowFat! restaurant in a typical location. The range of investment will be influenced by a number of factors including location and size, but will be within the range of $495,500 to $756,000. This amount includes:
- Franchise fee
- Leasehold improvements
- Furniture, fixtures and equipment
- Initial inventory
- Signage
- Rent for three months
- Security deposit
- Point of sale equipment
- Smallwares
- Grand opening marketing
- Training expenses
- Professional fees
You will also need working capital for deposits, rent, insurance, utilities and other expenses.
What is the initial franchise fee?
The franchise fee is $35,000 per location. Area developers will need to pay half of the franchise fee up-front per each desired location; the balance of the franchise fees are due upon the opening of each store.
How much are the royalty fee and the national advertising fund contribution?
The royalty fee for KnowFat! is 5% of the weekly gross sales, exclusive of sales, service and use taxes. The national advertising fund contribution is initially 1.5% of weekly sales and can be increased to 2.5% per week.
What type of training do you provide?
KnowFat! offers all of our franchisees a comprehensive training program at the KnowFat! KnowLedge Center. This program includes a mix of classroom, test kitchen, and live, hands-on store training for 3 people in your organization, one of whom must be your store manager. Our field training team will assist in the opening of each store.
What type of marketing do you provide?
KnowFat! offers its franchisees a number of turnkey opening and ongoing marketing programs that will bring customers in the door. In addition, KnowFat! provides materials and promotions that are available through our graphics standards manual and marketing promotions manual available online as well as in hard copy. KnowFat! is also building a state-of-the-art loyalty program for franchisees to understand customer behavior and create tailored marketing programs. KnowFat! will also help franchisees track purchasing and analyze customer shopping data.
Will I be offered an exclusive territory?
Each restaurant will have an exclusive territory, which will be negotiated prior to signing the Franchise Agreement. Each Area Developer will have a reserved Area, identified by the specific markets and number of units to be developed.
